Hi Ant,
As I head for Romania and Bulgaria I've got it in my mind to install a hidden key switch to disable the engine of my C15 when I am leaving the vehicle unattended.
Which wire is a good one to install a switch on?
Starter relay or some other easily reached wire?
TIA, Peter

I had a Thatcham immobiliser fitted, and he hid the position very well, I dont know where it is, cost me £100 but worth peace of mind, after having the vehicle stolen but returned. also a clutch lock, a very thick heavy chain and padlock I used when I lived in Dublin, around the clutch and steering, and removed the little thing ( gosh senior moment) sona noid? as well, did catch someone trying to steal the car, but they didnt.

Hi Peter. The easiest wire to switch is the diesel fuel solenoid wire that goes to the diesel pump, on your van its the thin green wire that goes to the right side of the pump at the top, it may have a black sleave on it. If this is switched the pump doesn't get any more diesel and the engine will run for a few seconds then stop. Ant

Hi Peter. The easiest wire to switch is the diesel fuel solenoid wire Thanks Ant, I knew you would have the answer for me. I have disabled the fuel pump in a similar way before in another vehicle. You have saved me a lot of searching and wire tracing. also a clutch lock, a very thick heavy chain and padlock Thanks Lunnie, I do have a similar device with a combination lock made of quite thick steel. Got it right after my car was stolen in France. Nothing like that to remind you to take measures... BTW, the car was bought in the UK on Wednesday and stolen in France on Friday. The shortest I have ever owned a car. Did take a bit of explaining to reassure the insurance people that I wasn't taking them for a ride. Peter Suwalki, Poland and heading south.
