So two friends and myself are looking to take a big 3 week roadtrip this coming summer from New York City to where ever the road takes us (but the west coast and back). Anyway, we need a vehicle to get us there and I stumbled upon this website and thought, who better to give motorhome advice than motorhomers themselves. So if you could let me know what the comfiest, not too large something that can be used as an everyday car as well and can't be too pricy, since I will be only 18, car is. Thanks so much. Best, Bulldog

Hi
Its nice to have someone from the US on here, I don't know what advice we can give you as this is an British forum, not sure whether anyone has travelled across the pond with their vans ;D.
But you never know we have a lot of very knowledgeable people on here so come on folks any advice?
Meanwhile best of luck on your trip sounds like a great adventure and we'd love to hear of your travels when you get back.
Regards Graham

I have Romahome camper in the UK and Toyota Sienna minivan (8-seater) in US. I regularly do camping trips in both countries (well, at their best times weather-wise). In Sienna, and in most other minivans, you can remove the second and third row of seats and load it with camping gear. I normally sleep in the tent, but in case of hurricane/storm/tropical depression you can easily sleep in the van. I also carry my kayak on the roof. You probably know that US State Parks are incomparable – best in the world. You don’t really need a motorhome there – start with the tent. My North Pole designed tent takes 10 seconds to put on. You will find a State Park everywhere in the US – and around big cities too. Of course, a minivan could be used as everyday car too. If you start in NYC, consider to drive along Blue Ridge Parkway – along the ridge of Appalachians. You will get 500 miles of incomparable views and the perfect road (no commercial transport allowed). If in June – you’ll get 500 miles of blossoming rhododendrons and azaleas along your way. Hiking trails, waterfalls, lakes… Ask me questions – I am a nearly profi in US camping… Happy camping Elena
