Hi We saw our friends brand new Romahome and decided we must have one. We are on a budget however so are looking for a C15 HyTop probably about 12 years old but in good condition if anyone knows of one for sale. We live on a dutch barge and our plans are to spend a couple of months each year in the autumn and spring somewhere hotter than the UK. I would appreciate any advice anyone could offer us about these vehicles. Thanks Andrew

Hi Andrew Welcome to the forum, Romahomes are lovely vehicles, there is lots of information on our main website about life with a Romahome if you haven't see it see HERE. Penny and Derek were selling their Romahome "Julius" not sure whether he has been sold yet. See HERE. Best of luck, hope you find the van of your dreams. Graham

Hello and welcome! When you say you live on a Dutch barge I assume it is in the UK and not Holland? ;D

Hi to all roma home owners! I purchased my first 17 yr old detatchable roma home back in June and I love it! Just in the middle of exchanging the existing 22 year old bedford rascal cab for a newer diahatsu pick up! So far got it demounted so in the next couple of weeks i should be up and running away up into the hills! Would be great to hear from other roma home owners! Happy travelling ;D Sunshine1

Hello Sunshine1 Nice to see you on here, welcome to the forum, we've been through just about every Romahome model there is, started with a C15 then two Duo's before finally upgrading to our Dimension and we love it. Can't wait for next year when the weather gets warmer we aren't really cold weather campers but are going for one night in a couple of weeks, hope it doesn't snow. Graham

Hi Sunshine1 I too have just bought my first Romahome demountable, but as yet I have not had the chance to have some fun in him. ( He's called Bilbo I am spending the next few months over winter giving him a face lift. When you get yours remounted on the Dihatsu I would love to see some pic's if you get the chance!! Cheers Dave

Hi Dave! I hope you enjoy Bilbo as much I love my 'sooty van' The roma came with all the orginal paper work how to dismount it etc! And after speaking to Brian Bailey,(once i had got past various very officious receptionists) was found to be a most charming and helpful man at Island plastics(now roma home) and gave me the confidence to do it! The hardest thing was trying to find a replacement 1300 Diahatsu hijet.(Like rocking horse droppings few exist. )I did find a website where a guy has pictured his change over, step by step and lists all components he had needed. How olds Bilbo? Enjoy him, it is fun! ;D Sunshine1

Hi Sunshine1, Bilbo was born in 1986 and he is a mark 1 Romahome on a C reg Bedford Rascal pick up. I am really looking forward to getting out and about in him as soon as I have finished his face lift ;D I too have found the guys at Romahome really helpful with my questions although I haven't had the chance to talk to Bill as yet. I must admit it has been a real pleasure finding this forum as everyone here seems absolutely fantastic and I can get all my stupid questions answered Look forward to seeing you on the road sometime. Cheers Dave

Hi Dave, I made a mistake mines a june 1988 (mark 2 ) I presume as when i spoke to Brian Bailey at roma home i gave him construction number and he said oh that will be a mark 2. Not the 17 yrs old. has i previously written (blonde moment)afterwards checked supply details. Roma was home was owned by 83 yr old gent for last 15 yrs so in very good condition inside. May see you on the road soon!
cheers Ellie Sunshine 1
