:)hi there - with kids doing own thing ready to downsize and get a romahome again (we had an old one before but with 2 kids, large dog etc bought bigger vehicle ) we want 2 spend weekends away and my husband drives 60+ miles a day in the vehicle as we would want to travel in europe we are looking at a duo hylo for everyday economy and parking needs - we currently have a coach built 4 berth and it is 2 juicy to use daily unless you have the odd oil well in the garden also too much space 4 our needs now - saw your forum when looking up roma club site - looks really informative and friendly.

Hello, glad you found us, its nice to have some "born again" Romahomers on here, if you've had a Romahome before you probably know what great little vans they are.
Great to have you on board.

Hi Good choice of vehicle, we have just parted with our Duo Hylo after five seasons and were very pleased with it. The base vehicle can take a heavy mileage and is very frugal on fuel. If you are going for second hand I would advise getting the HDi, it is slightly more economic and the extra power reduces gear changing. We had the normally aspirated engine however and it went just fine. Ant has some at avonmotorcaravans if you are near Bristol, he also sells a quick to erect awning which is great for weekends, he has a second hand one which is very cheap, how do I know, it's our old one ;D Good luck in your deliberations Derek

Hi t2t - and welcome to our group. I agree with Derek that the HDi version is really the one to go for - ours was a 2004 with aircon, and was a little sports car to drive!!
So, Derek, is the Bongo imminent? We could do with some more sensible Bongo owners on here - that Dabs is crazy - so I'm the only one at the moment!! ;D

So, Derek, is the Bongo imminent? We could do with some more sensible Bongo owners on here Nah, all talk me, no Bongo yet. I am using this puppy all the time now and it is sooo easy to drive, on or off road. Not much room for kit, I have suggested getting a small tent but it falls on deaf ears. Whats all this about being sensible, how boring is that, I pride myself on being mad as a brush. Derek

Hi Pauline & Graham,,,,,& everyone else, Just thought I'd say hello again from 'sunny Cornwall', Patty & I sold our beloved Romahome in May, having gone slightly larger in size by buying an AutoSleepers, still a Small Motor Homes, we spent August in France, again, loved it & we're on the road most week ends, saw the Taunton Carnival of Light, parked on the car park in town s the Priory was being used to park all the Carnival floats. lovely, quiet, etc. Hoping we may see everyone again at another meet, we always wave at every Romahome we see,,,, Jack & Patty Wright

Hi Jack and Pattie
Its lovely to hear from you again, glad to hear you are still enjoying your van in spite of upgrading from your Roma. Whoever bought it have got a lovely van and lovely unique interior cupboards.
So how's the new van, can you post a picture of it on here? We'd love to see it. Has it got a name?
Are you still brewing that delicious stuff in your shed?
It'd be great to see you at a meet sometime.
Cheers Graham
