Hi Ant After recent heavy rain I have a body of water between me and the engine. I can hear it slopping around and, when I took a left-hand bend a bit sharpish, some of it swooshed out of the fresh air vent on the driver's side!! Quite a shock! The water is maybe getting in through the vents near the windscreen wiper. I assume that there are drainage holes and that they are blocked, but I don't know where to look and I don't actually know what I am looking for! Any info would be great. Thanks Ant Jean

Hello Jean I remembered this coming up before and had a look, sure enough Geonomad had a very similar problem. See this thread HERE. Hope Ant doesn't mind me butting in to his territory. ;D Graham

Thanks for that,Graham. But looks like it's not that straightforward and that I will need help from the master!!
I've taken off the soundproofing (?) panel behind the jack..it is soaking wet....but I don't appear to have a hose, just a vertical slot about the size of a £1 coin but slightly thicker on the L/H side (it has some sort of cover on the inside which I can push back with a key) and a horizontal slot the same size, higher up on the R/H side. It looks like the hose is not there, I don't think I can be missing it. Where can I get one of these, and is it easy to poke in? Or am I jumping to the wrong conclusion...it has been known!!
Thanks Ant Jean

I've taken off the soundproofing (?) panel behind the jack..it is soaking wet....but I don't appear to have a hose I missed it the first time, too. No need to remove the insulation, just the jack. The hose is at the bottom in the centre. If the hose is gone, there will still be a hole there. The hose was bigger than I was looking for until Ant told me where to look. If I was near the van, I'd show a pic, but I am on the other side of the planet for the winter. Peter

Hi Jean. If you've got the panel behind the jack off you'll notice the bulkhead inside slopes towards you where the panel was fitted, there is a small slot under the lip that the base of the panel fits up to. It's this slot that drains the area via a hose that conveys the water under the lip and out to the ground down the face of the bulkhead behind the engine ( under where the jack is fitted), the hose is about an inch and a half in diameter and very soft. It doesn't matter if your hose is missing, it just means the water will run down the bulkhead from the drain slot. What matters is that the drain slot is not blocked. Hope this helps. Ant
