Hi all, Just a quick one to let you all know where we are standing with regards to numbers for the meet. So far the confirmed list stands at: Dan - Lymestoney Graham & Pauline ( and one cow story ) Martin - Martinw JayJay Viv & Terry Penny & Derrek - Pendel ( and maybe the cat ) Rhianon - Rhianon1 ( and her dogs ) Dave - Kiwidave Barbara & Bernie - Time2travel Ellie & Owen - Sunshine1 + Lulu & Sunny ( there dogs ) Remember thee is a dog exercise field at this site, so the dogs are welcome if you would like to bring them. Also, please accept my apologies, as the Friday is the 8th and not the 9th as I had stated, I have checked with the site and the booking is for the 8th,9th so Friday and Saturday nights. There is space in the field if you would prefer to arrive early or leave late. Really looking forward to seeing you all there, anyone else that would like to confirm, please let me know so that I can add you to the list. Cheers Dave

Hi Do we now book individually or do we pay on arrival or what? Looking forward to it. Hi Viv, I have sent a confirmation email to the owner of the site stating that we have a rally field. With this done, there is no need for each member to book individually as we have the entire field booked and we can pay on arrivel. If you require additional nights outside from the 8th and 9th, then please email the site and they can make those bookings for you. Really looking forward to seeing you all there. Cheers Dave

Is there any room for aspiring motorhome users? I do not have a motorhome and I am going to have to save the pennies but just wondered.... Will not be offended if you say no and I may chicken out anyway. Thanks.

Will not be offended if you say no and I may chicken out anyway. Thanks. Hi Roamingsue, You are more than welcome along to the meet, we have the entire rally field booked out so there is plenty of room available. What type of unit would you be bringing? I see that you are a aspiring motorhomer , do you have a caravan or trailer tent, or will you be looking to camp in a standard tent? It would be great to see you up there, it looks like it is turning out to be a good number of members who will be able to come so hopefully it will be a fantastic chance to catch up and meet everyone face to face. It may also be a great chance for you to check out a few of the motorhomes and see what takes your fancy. The cost is going to be £10.00 per night per unit, this includes EHU. Any questions or if I can help at all, please don't hesitate to leave me a message or PM me if you would prefer. Regards Dave

Hi Romingsue
As Dave says you are most welcome, as an aspiring motorhomer you would have the chance to have a nosey at our vans and get all the answers you need from the horses mouth as it were. There will be lots of different vans for you to have a look at.
I think I am right in saying our paths nearly crossed at Devizes when we were there in our Dimension, it would be good to finally meet you this time.

Remember that there is space in the rally field after we leave for a few days if you wanted to stay an additional day or two, you can book with the site and they won't make you move to a new pitch after the meet has ended. (I think that Ellie and Own ( and there dogs Lulu and Sonny ) are planning to stay for an additional day or so.) See you all soon Dave

Hi, thanks kiwidave, graham. Can you pencil me in hopefully I can make it, I have a folding camper. Hopefully nothing will get in the way of the weekend my life often tends to get complicated with family. I would like a motorhome now although my folding camper has been brilliant with grown up kids I am realising it probably is going to be too much for me to manage on my own. Also would be great to be able to visit them at university in a campervan, but am not sure about the cost and I could not cope with something that broke down all the time. But it would be great to meet up with everybody from the boards. Can I just add though if for some reason I do have to cancel at short notice that i will pay for the two nights camping ie Fri and Saturday night that is only fair. I would like a hook up as I do not have an inbuilt heater so have to rely on electricity for heat ... and may can be cold. I think though you said these were inclusive. thanks

It is an open air theater built into the side of a cliff, well worth doing a show at and very reasonable priced. Can't wait to catch up with you , I'll bring the beam, you bring the coke ( diet though, must watch my weight ;D) Cheers Dave

I have penciled you into the confirmed list, you are right that EHU is included in your cost. I fully understand that life can sometimes get in the way of plans, so if you are unable to attend, please just let me know and there will be no need to pay for the Fri,Sat if you are not there. I am sure there will be a heap of people here just itching to show you round there motorhomes and discuss the upside ( and downsides, if we can think of any ;D) of the joys of owning a motorhome. Really looking forward to meeting you Regards Dave

Thanks for the effort you've put into getting the weekend sorted. As for stopping on the site afterwards, thanks for letting us know. We''ll bear it in mind when we get the fortnight sorted. At the mo, we're thinking about moving onto the south Wales coast and having an explore in that area. Glen

Click on Glenw photo of his van, to expand it, and he has the movelite awning on the back of his van, same as mine.

Hi, Glen that is really kind of you. Should be okay if conditions reasonable. The folding camper was great for the family because you had lots of space for rampaging kids, but of course it is not as fast to put up as a motorhome no contest there.

Hi Martin,
Even tho I have been in touch with the site three times; 1. to enquire 2.to confirm 3.re; deposit and tariff
I am non the wiser whether it reverts to their normal tariff after the rally in my case that would be £21. Camper van, electric and two dogs which they charge at 3 pounds a night each! Which I think is a bit steep. But hey ho!
Sorry am not of any use! I am struggling with my M.E. at the moment, and hadn't the energy or the cognitive powers left to re -email them again. (only managing to stay up a couple hours a day at the moment) If it's £21 I will have to pay it!
So sorry!

I will post as soon as I know the answer for you. Cheers Dave

Thanks Dave,
I think it is quite expensive with out the meet subsidy, not too bad for two people, but I am one, and I think £3 for a dog is outrageous.
Martin
P.S. Sorry Ellie, I didnt relise, please dont go to any trouble on my behalf. just thought they may have told you,

Hi martin,
Don't apologize!
I had emailed them thought I had made my self clear, just didn't have the energy when I opened my emails yet again to find I hadn't had my questions answered.
Looking forward to meeting up with you!
Hope I have recovered enough not to be cranky!
Best wishes

Hi all, I have just got off the phone with Paul at the site and this is what he has done for us: Any one wishing additional nights ( either before or after the meet ) will be charged at the meet price of £10.00 per unit per night including EHU. I also talked to him about the dogs and he has said that he will charge £3.00 per unit per night that has dogs, and not £3.00 each dog. Hope this helps everyone. Talk soon, any other problems please let me know and I will see what I can sort out. Cheers Dave
