Bloomin' full up with the stuff - why do they last so long? (Or should it - why do we buy such big ones) Mike

You are a lucky man Mike! We never even had any turkey. Stayed with daughter in the hotel she took over managing last week, she had 150 booked in for three course Christmas Day lunch. Bookings had been taken in a haphazard way over previous weeks, chef had left two days before, people arrived all over the place at various times! A water tank was leaking through the ceiling and we finally sat down to eat a grilled steak at about 10 pm Christmas night. Had a great time though and spent Christmas morning walking on the beach!
Off to see if we can get a turkey as we have nothing in the house and I fancy cold turkey and stuffing sandwich.

Hi Lunnie
You are right about the buzz of being in at the deep end. This was a bit too much though, as it is so bad when things do not go smoothly and paying guests' Christmas day is not perfect. With the scenario daughter was facing things had to go wrong for some of them. She had to reimburse some and give loads of free wine away. Never mind she did cope extremely well and I enjoyed the mucking in to clear up ready for breakfast next day for a full hotel!
Hope you have a good time in Turunc and have a lovely New Year.
