Hi everyone I'm new to this so I apologise in advance for any mistakes in protocol etc. I've an ancient Hytop Romahome and I've been trying to find some replacement cushion covers. I could make them myself but I just don't have the time. Has anyone found a cheap source of covers? I don't mind those stretchy ones as I need a quick fix. Or has anyone some covers to sell? Also my van came without a table but I have no idea how the original table might have looked. Can anyone send me a picture please. My husband could probably make one. Cheers

Managed to lift the image to post it on here, but the website is worth a look as well for other tips.

Hi Dorneyi,
Re; cushion covers not sure what the interior is like in your Hytop Roma home. But in the original Roma homes the seating/ sleeping area is two bench's on each side. I find two fitted single sheets cover the seats and can be tucked in. I use one when traveling to prevent the dog hairs knitting into to the existing upholstery. Hope this proves to be a temporary solution. I don't where your based but many static caravan sites, have lists of upholsterers. I had my static done very cheaply a few years ago! Worth a try!
Hope this helps!

Hi everyone ,thank you for the welcome and the helpful responses. I'm surprised at the table as I didn't expect it to be free standing. I'll have to find something similar if possible. The single sheets are a good idea too and will cover bare new sponge cushions until I can get something more permanent. Thanks again. Dorneyi

Re the table - you can buy the legs individually from caravan dealers, e.g. www.waudbys.co.uk/products/table_legs.htmland buy a piece of worktop or similar from a local builders merchants to make the table. Bespoke upholstery makers can be expensive, but if you know anyone with a sewing machine and a bit of spare time the covers can be easily made up as there are no complicated "knee rolls", the cushions are straightforward box shapes.

Thanks for the info Caz and the link. I actually did start making covers but it's a bad habit of mine not to go for the simple option. I started putting zips in and used difficult to handle fabric. The two small trial covers are great but I can't face the hassle of the other 6. I spoke to Ant and he said they just wrap the fabric over the cushion and staple it on to the wooden board underneath. What a brilliantly obvious solution! That's the way I'm going to go when I've bought some new fabric. Dorneyi

hi dorneyi,
welcome to the forum, sorry i must have missed this thread when you first started it!!
As ant has suggested, the easiest way of recovering the seats is to staple new fabric into place, thats exactly what we did. we also used a spraycan full of 'fabric protector' to try to help keep the covers a bit cleaner.
good luck with the re-styling.
Glen

Hi Glen, that Ant is a star isn't he? I asked him about a new lock for the back door of my van and not only did he name a company where I could buy a replacement but he gave me the product number as well! I have to say he's more help with old vans, mine's a 1989 Hytop, than the company that made them. They just weren't interested. Three cheers for Ant! dorneyi
