Hi Everyone, We have just come back from a lovely week in the Isle of Arran. While the rest of Britain had inches of water, it only rained one day for us. However, on return to sunny North Wales, we keep finding water in the rear well. I've stood with a hose playing showers but we are none the wiser. Has anyone had a similar problem and found some solutions? Any suggestions very welcome, Thank you, Aileen.

Hi I am sure Ant will come on here and explain. Sometimes the water gets in through the rear lights, this is a common thing with the C15, some vans have had a tiny hole in the rear well to assist the draining of the water. Also if you have an opening light it may not be fully sealed and the water drains down to the well again.
But DONT panic it will be solved.

Hi Aileen
We have an Outlook and when we were camping last week it did rain and one morning we found water in the well and the little rug was wet.
We have no idea what caused it and it did not happen again. One thing that came to mind was that OH had turned up the fridge and we wondered if it had frozen and thawed or something. The cucumber looked like it had frozen and thawed out so maybe it was that in our case.

Hi Aileen
Just a thought, have you looked to see if the connections to the tap are nice and tight, we had a leak from ours when we had a C15 and the we had a pool of water on the floor.
Regards Graham

Thanks again for the help. We're pretty sure it's rain related (we've been caught by the phantom tap in the past!). I know it's not the fridge this time, as it has only happened since we've been home and the fridge is off.
Please keep all the suggestions coming, I am sure this will be a trial and error situation, Aileen.

Hi Aileen. Sorry or the delay in replying, I managed to escape for a week. There are many places water can get in to a C15, The most common are; Rear lights, especially the wraparound ones. Mains hook-up fitting, Damaged rubber seal at the base of the door frame, Damgage to rear bumper, Side windows ( water normally looks brown) Roof vents (normally stains headlinings) Not shutting door properly ( quite common )
Hope this helps. Ant

Ant Don't wonder it piles up, Ant - it's all these breaks you keep having - I bet you had time off at Christmas, as well !! As for the smallholding - the rumours were true, then !! Mike

Hi all I too had water in my rear well and I could not find where it was coming from.
Then one day I noticed water at the back and left side of the sink, not a lot but enough to start to run down the front of the cupboard and onto the floor, where was this water coming from, couldn't be the tap - It didn't leak - or did it?
Well, yes it did, sort of, when the tap is turned off the water stops, but some water still remains in the spout, so when you push the spout back against the tiles to put the lid on there is a good chance, depending on the angle of the van, that this water will dribble out and if you use the tap quite often, as in preparing dinner etc., then it will build up and start to run down on to the floor.
The fix. The tap can be swiveled, so rotate the spout so that it points upwards, water then cant run out.
This has sorted my water problem and since doing this I have had no water in the rear well.
Hope this is of some use
Martin
P.S. DO NOT FORGET TO RETURN THE SPOUT INTO THE DOWNWARD POSITION BEFOR USING THE TAP AGAIN. if you dont do this you know what will happen, and with a brain like mine I DO KNOW
M

Thanks for all the advice and the entertainment. We've just been away in one of the wettest weekends ever and the leak was stopped by a rolled up towel by the back door (it is a technical thing!). I suppose this suggests (As Ant suggested) that it is the rubber seal to the door. Do you know if you can get replacements for these?
We're now off on a mini-tour of North Wales (on our doorstep) so the towel will do for now! Aileen.
