I am wondering whether motorhomes I think in general are too low and are frequently disregarded. Take an outlook which has a payload of 300 Kg. If you have the pullman option fitted and take and extra passenger or two it would not take a hell of a lot to exceed it. Three 11 stone (70 kg) passengers would take you to 210 kg leaving you only 90 kg left. I imagine that gas cylinders, and any other bits and peices would need to be included in that allowance.
So is this saying that the extra seating is used only when not going camping? Or for tiny kids? I could see the scenario where I packed my friend ins with their tents or my adult kids so we could travel together although obviously they would pitch separately.
Is the payload not that important? Do people disregard it largely? Interested to hear your opinions.

Sue. The 300 kg is "Spare mass capacity" that is after the weight of gas, water, fuel, one driver and 75kg of general stuff including the weight of any listed optional extra. so your two 11 stone passengers are all that is eating into the 300kg allowance. Ant

Thank you for explaining that Ant, that then makes more sense. I had not realised that gas cyclinders and water had been built into the allowance.
