Hi Ant, what would the correct tyre pressures for C15 Romahome Hytop be, the C15 van manual says 33psi for front tyres and 38 for the rear, is this enough for the Roma? liljo

Hi Liljo. The tyre pressures of the 765 van that most post 1990 Romahomes were built on should be 40psi front and 45psi rear, these pressure have come about through experience of tyre wear over the years and are only correct for the commercially rated tyre that should be fitted to the C15. The 155x13 tyre comes rated with a "c" letter or 80R and its maximum load and pressure rating. Some may just say reinforced with no letter c, the most important thing is to look at the load rating stamped on the tyre wall for a single tyre, it should be able to carry 495Kg. If your van is a 600 chassis ( pre 1990) then it may have car tyres fitted normally stamped with a 78T or 79T, the pressures for these are lower as they are not commercial tyres. If your van is the later 765 chassis ( chassis number will have "PP" in it rather than "PB" for 600chassis) and you have car tyres fitted you may not be insured in the event of a claim. The heavier chassis must have commercial tyres fitted. Hope that hasn't spooked you too much! Ant

Hi Ant, I have got a 2001 Diahatsu hijet with a demountable roma home 1988. The tyres currently on my diahatsu are 155r /12c. 88/86-8pr. Are these the correct tyres? And what are the correct tyre pressures? Thanks any advice would be great! Sunshine1 Ellie

Hi Ellie. They sound fine for tyres on a Hijet. Tyre pressures are a bit more of a grey area on a demountable as the pressures with the body on and loaded to go away should be near the max (which will be stamped on the tyre)but the presures without the body could be as much as 10psi less . Too low and the tyre wear and handling will not be good, too high will make the steering and ride uncomfortable, so providing you're close to the stamped pressures you can adjust for comfort. Ant
