Ive seen a 1991 Bedford Rascal van with a fibre glass high top and a proffessional interior in it. Does any body know who was the manufacture of these ? The only other Rascal van conversions I have seen have been Danburys with elevating roofs. Ive googled Bedford Rascal High Top and can not find any info or photos. Thankyou for any help you can give me.

I had a look at there website earlier and didn't see any photos of high tops in the gallery so I thought maybe it wasn't them.

It looks a nice van, is it yours or are you just thinking of buying it? Maybe the owner knows it history or are there any clues on the log book.

The seller is selling it for his son inlaw who is out of the Country, he doesnt have the log book. Ive HPi'd it and it comes up as a 1991 Rascal Panel Van Green with a colour change (to green). Theres no MOT and it wants a few jobs doing ( tyre, steering bush and a N/S window) . Im still not sure what company made the high top or interior.

I had a quick scout round on the internet and all I can find is an advert for the same van!! Are you local johnson36? (south yorks). We're in Sheffield. Have you looked around the van? looking at the other photo's on the ad, it seems as though there maybe a makers name on the back door, or is it just a mark on the photo? The interior looks good on the photos, good luck with the few jobs that need doing, its a cracking price for the van!

I bought the van this morning and its now at my home. What I would like to do is to transfer the high top + interior and 3 side windows to a much newer van. I need a little bit of advice, do you think the high top will fit the roof of a 2002 Suzuki Carry 1.3 ? or am I better to try and find a late year Suzuki supercarry or Rascal ? what year did they make the Rascals and supercarrys to ? I have just noticed that the floors in the newer Suzuki Carrys are higher so this might be a problem ? The inside of the high top looks very proffessional and also the unit accross the back inside but the seat unit behind the drivers seat looks home made and I cant see how it makes into any sort of bed. I will need to remake this seat / bed. Im still not sure what company made the roof or the interior unit, ive tried Nuventure and they have replied that it is not one that they made.

The bed will probably pull out side ways, you should find legs underneath when to pull the bench seating, if that makes sense, the backrest will be the infill to make it into the double.
I would be concerned that you dont have a log book. but it does look professional, unless someone was an excellent at DIY.
Hope you have many happy days camping with it.

The kitchen layout at the back looks very like a van I had a couple of years ago. It was a Bedford Rascal base but had elevating roof and was a Drivelodge Bijou, I suspect they did do High top versions as well. They are still in business try www.drivelodge.co.uk/On mune to make up the bed you had to slide both front seats forward and recline them fully so they were flat, then the side bench seat hinged from the inner face and a small flap dropped down (about 4") to make a flat base twice as wide as the seat base. Then the back rest and seat cushion were placed across abd there was an arm rest that went between the two reclined front seat backrests. Hope that helps some Chris
