My satisfaction at getting things sorted out in my van (see 4th, leaking windows), was short lived. Despite receiving brackets from Romahome for the drop down tables I find they are the wrong ones. I'm confused as yet again I don't know what the original brackets were like or whether the little tables are stored up or down. The current brackets must be replacements as they don't look right. Could anyone please post a picture of the little work bench brackets in the 1989 C15 Hytop or tell me what kind of brackets I need to get? Was there ever a more annoying word than 'brackets'? dorneyi p.s. How do I add the blue 'new' icon to a message?

At the risk of usurping Graham, I am replying to your second post so that you can see that it moves to the top of the list, hopefully, with a blue 'NEW' if you previously marked all posts on that board as read.
Unfortunately I have a 2000 C15 Hylo. The worktops are fitted by a full length piano hinge to the end unit (sink or stove). A wooden flap is similarly hinged to the underside of the worktop, and that flap sits on a square of plastic (screwed on to the end unit) to hold the top steady. The tops travel vertically, clipped at the top. In that postion the flap is padded as a backrest. Does this ring any bells? If so I will send photos.

Hi Dorneyi
Just to confirm what aggsandrog says the "new" icon will appear when you post a thread or reply to a thread but it will only appear to others not to you. When you have read a thread the "new" icon will disappear, I hope that makes sense.
If my memory serves me right from our old Duo the little tables stay down when travelling and up when you want to use them for extra work surface. I haven't got a picture though unfortunately.

Early Romahomes were fitted with this kind of shelf bracket (See O'Leary motorhomes online shop Kitchen flap support).
They are very flimsy to say the least. After I broke a couple on my 1993 C15 I made some brackets like those used on the later C15s and on Outlooks, they are much stronger

They fold flat against the wall when travelling, the brackets, which looks a bit like a L shaped shelf bracket, the flap travels as previously stated in the upright position.
They had a full length piano hinge as now, and I cant see why the new drop support will not fit.
The 89 bracket gave you move useable bench room for a tray or feet, but over a period of time it loosen and allowed the worktop to drop so items could slide off.
Think of a drop leaf dining table, the ones, that you swing the arm out to support the flap and you will have the picture.
As you can tell not good at discribing, but you may well get the picture, hope so.

Hi Everyone. I now see from the responses that there are two kinds of flap: those that stow up and, as in my van, are too long to go down and those that must be shorter and stow away in the down position. There had been previous central brackets for the flaps in my van because the holes are still there. As has been suggested they must have been very flimsy and have been replaced by spring brackets which have lost their spring. Thank you everyone for your help I'm going to stop going on about it now and just buy some new brackets that will stay put when folded. Thanks also for the 'flagging' information it almost makes sense but how do I mark threads as read? dorneyi

Re 'flagging': the thread is automatically treated as read as you close it when you are logged on. A 'mark as read' option appears at the top of each board if you do not want to open all 'new' threads. ...Roger
