Hi Everyone,

Well we have finally picked up a caravan.

Bought a 1999 Avondale Dart 470 2 berth.

It's in near immaculate condition, 1 owner and all the manuals are there, even down to the smoke alarm - not expecting to need to use the 6 month dealer warranty but nice to have anyway!!

I towed it home on Friday afternoon, my dad helped me by directing me into the drive - good job there's plenty of space as it was the first time - needed a couple of tries but got it backed in almost perfectly then.

I've been in and out of it all weekend, and my first job is resealing the shower, by the looks of it the previous owner didn't use it - except for hanging wet clothes - but the sealant was all looking a bit tired so out came the knife and its all gone.

Just got to run over the edges with some Meths to get them all clean and reseal with some nice new Polyseal silicone sealant+.

Hoping to get away in it sometime in March for a first run locally then planning a trip to Chatsworth for 2 weeks in July.

Have got the May date in mind so will try and sort some hols for then and join you all there.

Well done Tim, sounds like a great find. I'm sure you will get used to towing, someone once described the first time they towed as like having the town hall behind you. ;D

It will be great to see you and Kris again in May if you can make the meet.

Well we've completed our first weekend away in the caravan. Went the the C&CC site at Sandringham. Didn't quite get the full sunshine that was forecast for Saturday but was lovely to be away again.

Had no problems towing and I'm more comfortable with the whole outfit now too.

Was down to zero outside overnight on the Friday but we were nice and warm inside with the blown air heating, I even used the shower in the caravan too - just to prove it all worked properly.....had nothing to do with me being too lazy to walk to the shower block.......lol

So subject to Kris being able to get some time off from work we'll be joining you all in May, will confirm that when we are sure thou.

Hope everyone is well and planning loads of trips away for the summer.
