I have just had a quote for contents and buildings which is £200 cheaper per annum than SAGA. Does anyone know if they are any good. Anyone had any dealings with them. Seems a bit cheap at £317pa for buildings and contents.

Hi Viv
We are with RIAS for our buildings and contents, we had a hard time finding someone who would insure us because we work from home, there is a specialist company who insure Childminders but Rias came in quite a bit lower than them I can't remember the exact figure but it was a significant saving!
We have just had our renewal and it has stayed the same price, I expected it to go up this year so I am well pleased.
We've not had to claim from them so can't comment on that.

Thanks Graham.
I really can't ignore such a difference it is actually £238 cheaper with RIAS. As usual though she wanted me to sign up straight away or that offer may not be continued. I won't be pressured so said no. Funnily enough it will be available on Monday as well now!

Good for you Viv, I never give way to that sort of pressure, its more likely to put me off, I always decline and go away and research, try to find a better deal, invariably when you go back you can still get the same deal. That goes for anything you are buying not just insurance. Graham

hi Viv, My ex partner was considerably older than me! We had similar houses in same area, his insurance through RIAS, was very cheap he had never had a problem with them! Sunshine1
