Just got back from our Mini Meet at Newark, nice to see John and Wendy and Steve and Denise again. It was really cold and windy when we got there and Saturday night went down to -4.5 degrees but we survived, Sunday was a lot better day. We enjoyed walking round looking at all the motorhomes, shame no Romahomes there but Autosleepers were there with their Mezan. There were some enormous beasts we had a look round one of those trailer things I think they are called 5th wheel or something. They are really luxurious inside with settees and artificial log fires but I can't imagine trying to tow one some of the places we go with our Dimension. We didn't buy a new van but we did buy a few "must have" bits and bobs. A little folding table, just right for the van when you just want a drinks table and can't be bothered to put the proper table up, a Fiamma wrap round screen (like a silver screen only cheaper but probably not as good) we got it for £25 and have just seen on line the price is £40 so that was a bargain.

Hi Graham Had a great weekend nice to meet up wit you all again, must say the entertainment they laid on was very good even though country and western isnt my thing i did enjoy it, think the drink had a lot to do with it. As you said there were some awesome motor homes there, i must say i was very tempted, one in particular, although i would have had to sell the house to buy it, very tempting. Just arrived home today having spent a glorious day on the east coast yesterday - bird watching and walking. I also had my first visit to Skegness after living in Derbyshire for 25 years! I hasten to add that we only drove through on our way to Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve.
It was good to see all 4 of you at Newark. Sorry that we didn't see Steve and Denise to say goodbye.
Thanks, Graham, for the Carrot Cake (I am assured that he made it all by himself). I heard a rumour that we were guinea pigs for his cake making and if we survived then it might be repeated for the meet in May. It was fantastic and I am really annoyed that we can't be at the meet in case another one appears.

No problem, glad you liked it, yours was lovely too as always, I've got a lot of cakes to make to catch up with all the cake I've had from you. After getting rave reviews for my carrot and apple cake I will make one for the meet in May, someone's got to show KiwiDave he's not the only one who can make cakes. ;D Especially with Wendy and Lunnie our chief cake makers absent.
