Beware. 
Avoid a possible mini disaster.In the process of packing I left the hatch in place, but unbolted, just for a couple of minutes while I disposed of the waste water. It is a tight fit. The wind was noticeable, but not that strong. When I returned to the van, however, the wind had blown the hatch into the van. I suffered a ding on the hob, and one in the aluminium panel of the rear door. I was lucky not to have a broken window in my new door.
