Hi everyone Thrilled to be on here - have just bought a 2005 Hylo and been for our first night camping in it last night!! Needless to say it was fantastic! I've got some (probably silly) questions now: when the seating is in Pullman mode (i.e. using the table) where do you store the spare cushion? It won't go in the above cab space and it's quite a bulky cushion to just have lying around. Also, we couldn't get electric hook up last night but found the electrics didn't work automatically off the leisure battery, and neither did the heating/hot water. Anyone know if there is a switch you have to switch on first? Any help very gratefully received! Best wishes Noosner

Not quite sure I understand the problem, but in my 2006 Berlingo based pullman Hylo, the three seat cushions on the left side (facing the cab end) are fitted either as a long bench seat, or as two single seats, one a forward facing seat with three point safety belt, and the other a rear facing seat with lap belt (one of the cushions forms the seat back). I assume your 'spare' cushion is the middle cushion, which does not need to be stored as it is moved to form the seat part of the rear facing seat, while the end cushion which it replaces forms the seat back. Just to make things clearer check the piping on the tops of the cushions. When laid in the correct order as a bench seat the piping should line up to form an oval shape. Keeping the seats in the same order, tip the furthest seat up on end, lifting from the end right behind the cab passenger seat, and moving the other end along towards the cab. There should be straps under the cushion which are threaded through buckles on straps fixed to the seat base and the pelmet above to hold the seat in the upright position. Feed the straps through just enough to hold the seat up but leave everything loose at this stage. Then move the middle seat right up to the end of the bench base and tuck the edge under the upright seat end. Finally, tighten the seat back straps. Tighten the bottom strap first to pull the seat back tightly onto the bottom cushion, then tighten the upper strap to securely fix the upright seat back. The seat back should be firm and not twist or be held up too high, as it should safely support the back of a passenger (assuming your Hylo has the seat belts fitted).
I hope that helps, reading it back it seems pretty confusing to me!
Hope you enjoy your Hylo as much as we have ours,
Roger

Dear Roger
Thank you so much for this detailed reply - it's MUCH appreciated. We're taking my dad out for the day in the Hylo today and will be trying out what you've suggested. The idea that the middle cushion might make up into a rear facing seat with a actual back is a complete revelation. I didn't know that (nor did the people at the motorhome garage where we bought it!) As usual, I can hardly believe the ingenuity of the Romahone people in designing this amazing vehicle. Will report back here later. Thanks again!

Hi again Roger
I couldn't wait - I've just been outside (in my pyjamas and dressing gown - hope the people in our street are prepared for the fact that their neighbour has turned into a romahomaniac) and tried out your suggestion. Thank you, thank you, thank you, because it worked perfectly! And solves the mystery of what those buckles are for, which was puzzling me the night before last as I lay on the r/h side of the bed gazing upwards.
We bought our Hylo second hand from an ordinary motorhome garage, and although they've been fantastic, they obviously weren't quite up to speed on some of the finer points.
Can't wait to try it out today - our first time with an extra passenger - so this is all very timely indeed! Thank you again,
Best wishes Noosner
