Hi everyone
Just bought a 2005 Duo Hylo and after our first night camping in it, I realise I am now a fully certified Romahomaniac. It is awesome. Every little detail, it seems, has been fully thought out - no inch of space is wasted.
It's fab to find this forum, too, which has already answered a puzzling question about cushions, thanks to Romahome Roger.
I live in Yorkshire with my partner and dog.
Looking forward to many chats here!
Best wishes Noosner

Hi Noosner A big welcome to the forum, you are in good company here we have a lot of Romahomaniacs, perhaps we should rename the forum as Romahomaniacs Anonymous. ;D If you fancy meeting up with other small motorhomers we are having a meet in May, all the details are HEREA lot of newbies are coming to this meet so you wouldn't be the only one just finding out about their vans. Thanks v much Graham, and thanks for the invite to the meet, too. It sounds fab, but unfortunately it's bang in the middle of a very hectic work time for me so it's unlikely I'll make it. There's always next year though!!!

Hi Ellie Thanks! My Dad has made a special wooden fence that slides in the back of my hylo, so the dog gets a penned off area between the fridge and cupboard. She seems to like it in there! Where do your two dogs go?? Noosner

Hi noosner
Welcome. We have had our little van for a few years now and just love it. Hope to meet you soon at one of the get togethers when you can manage it.
I am always making or buying some new little gadget for the van. Viv

Hi noosner! Unfortunately the size of of our dogs, prevent us from having any type of dog guard. When traveling we have two single fitted sheets which I slip over the bench seats,to prevent mud and dog hairs molding themselves into the seats fabric. Our large dog,is fastened to the cab,in the case of any excessive breaking so he doesn't fly out of the back door. And our elderly Basset sits on the floor.I got a polypropylene runner for the floor, this is easy to clean and dog hairs don't weave themselves into it. And is easy removed. And when we camp, I travel with a dustpan and brush and the hairs come off easily. The only hair problem I have is with the curtains, I take one of those lint removers(sticky tape on a roller). And a bottle of fabric deodorizer. When camping, we peg the dogs out in the awning. Hope this helps! Sunshine1 Ellie

Hi Viv and Ellie Thanks for your messages. I know what you mean about gadgets, Viv, I can feel this beginning to happen already. I don't want our dented old pots and pans cluttering my beautiful Hylo... Re dog hairs, Ellie, I think our carpet (which is fastened down with press studs) will come off, and may just take it off completely for our annual camping trip to Scotland (in June - can't wait!!!) But it's the upholstery I worry about most. I think our dog is going to get pegged in the awning - unless bone dry!
