Hello from a Jiffy Romahomer

Good Evening,

Thought I best introduce myself..

I am Glenn and own a 1984 Jiffy, with a Romahome body on the back.
It is basically a Mini Based kit vehicle, of which only around 70 of the base vehicle were made..

There are, as far as I have found, only four that have, until recently, been converted to Campers. Someone else has recently converted another after seeing mine.
I did own two of these, but have just sold one to my girlfriends brother.

I also own a box lorry version which used to be a Pick Up.

Mine used the demountable body, permenantly bonded to the fibreglass cab, and then the rear wall of the cab has been removed to make it through-cab.

I have used it in the past for several trips etc until the leaf spring snapped, then I put it in my barn and forgot about it!!

At present, I have Buzz, the Jiffy, in pieces and hope to have it back together in the next month.

It has loads of pictures on it including when I first got Buzz, right up to date with the leaf spring replacement and chassis clean up.

I look forward to getting hints and tips for the more compact campers.....

Yes, 'Jiffy' will be fine, I've been called alot worse!! Lol!!

I get called Jiffy by some of my friends anyway..

Please take your time looking over the site, there are quite a few photos on there, plus I hope to be updating it fairly regularly

Hi Jiffy,

Just wanted to say welcome to the forum.

I have looked at your web site a few times when I was looking around and doing a little research on Romahomes and your little yellow camper came out awesome, congrads on getting it looking so good.

Hope you manage yo get him fixed up soon, if you do manage it before the 8th may we are having a meet and it would be great to see you there.

Erm, cheers for the welcome and invite Kiwidave,

BUT, as you can see by the latest updates, I dont think I will be ready for then,

(still need to get the leaf springs made!!)

Also I am going to a friends wedding for a week as of next wednesday, so I wont get much more done after this weekend!!

I would love to come to some meetings in the futre though, and see how everyone gets on with their Compact Wonders!!
