Your van looks exactly the same as ours, we have the same awning as well but we haven't tried it on the back yet, only on the side.
Have you tried both? Do you prefer the back? I would imagine you need a fairly long pitch if its a marked pitch.
I like the idea of still being able to have the sliding door open, I definitely want to try this set up next time we are out.

Hi Graham
We have tried both ways. As you say, this does mean that you can have the side door open as well. The secret is to get the position just right so that you can open both doors into the awning and leave them open. The black strap that runs along the floor near to the van has to be parallel and only just outside the tow ball that is fitted.
It is very easy to release the two guy ropes either side to drive away.
We have not experienced a problem with length of pitch but we are still very new to this.
