We have just had a few days camping and cycling in Lincolnshire. The weather was absolutely brilliant; we even sat out to eat one evening. I managed one of my lifetime ambitions - a visit to Skegness and a walk along the prom. We sat on the prom at Skegness and ate our chips in the sunshine and watched the world go by - all human life is here I think that my need to visit Skegness is now satisfied and I will not need to go again! Although we may have to go through to get to Gibraltar Point which is well worth many visits. They have a very nice cafe, complete with binoculars for viewing from the large picture windows. We saw a marsh harrier circling over the marsh while we were there. Later in the afternoon we had an ice cream at a farm shop. John certainly knows how to treat a girl on a day out!!!! The following day was a bit windy (I suppose that should be expected in the Fens) but still sunny and we had another good ride but no chips, cafes or ice creams. Friday we went off to Peterborough for the motorhome show. Washing & cleaning now and planning for the next trip. A review of Meadowlands where we stayed is in Pauline's intray

You can't beat fish and chips at the seaside, when I was young we used to go to Mablethorpe just up the coast from Skeggy for our family holiday.
Mum and Dad would rent a chalet on the front and us kids would play on the sand all day while mum and dad brewed tea and made sandwiches and watched the world go by, ee by gum those were the days.
Graham (feeling nostalgic)
P.S Thanks for the campsite review Wendy, Pauline says she'll get on to it ASAP.

I think that my need to visit Skegness is now satisfied and I will not need to go again! The motion to have Wendy on the 'promote Skegness Tourist Board panel' has now been revoked

We sat on the prom at Skegness and ate our chips in the sunshine and watched the world go by - all human life is here Blimey, it's been the weekend for it! As I am 'between motorhomes', I had to rough it in a tent last night in Skegness and now I remember why I wanted a motorhome in the first place!! And then, whilst laying on my airbed bed, in a sleeping bag and covered over with a 13.5 tog quilt and still feeling chilly, well, my face anyway, my dad rang to say they had just decided to go to Skegness for the week, not realising I was there!!! bizarre! Had a fantastic day at the Parrot Zoo www.parrotzoo.co.uk/ but got sunburnt!! Jane
