Hello Me and my partner are looking to buy our first motorhome, we have our heart set on a C15 diesel Romahome Hytop, preferably after 93 but not essential. Can anyone help? Is there one for sale near you? We will go anywhere in the country to pick it up. Thank you for your time Sarah

Have you had a look at Avon Motorcaravans HERE. Ant will certainly look after you if you buy from him his after sales service is excellent. Graham (no connection to Avon Motor Caravans apart from a very satisfied customer)

However our budget dosnt stretch to even the cheapest Romahome on there, we do have quite a small budget, and are realistically going to have to buy a bit of a fixer upper probably, unless we can get a bit more money together.

Please scrap my last message about the van for sale. Just looked underneath it and a cross member is disintegrating with rust, even though the MOT was only issued in March. Sorry `bout that.

Hello fabrabbit, I am about to buy another Roma C15D from Ant in Bristol, mine is an old one, 1988, and I will have to sell it. Mine is a Hytop and is still MOT'd until September 16th this year, it is a very good runner having taken me to Switzerland and back many times to visit my children, in fact I am going again tonight for a few days, back on Tuesday next week. Have had quite a bit of work done, I think it would suit someone who wants a cheap van. The suspension squeaks a bit, but I have been told it can go on like this for ages, and in fact has done so and seems to not cause a problem. If you have still not had any luck then by all means call me, landline is 02392 291724, mobile 0776 107 5977, but remember I will be driving to Dover tonight and then over to Switzerland.

Ok Steve - I admit it - I'm envious!! Just been to Spain for a few days last week to visit our daughter - but it wasn't that warm - strong cool breeze most of the time - apparently this week she says is really hot!!
Have a great time - hope the weather's better than here.
Mike

Hiya Mike, good to get a message from ya. Am certainly looking forward to seeing them again, they love being in the Roma, I had planned to go on the motorbike but they said "no, come in the motorhome". Of course, it takes loads longer in the Roma, I tend to "nurse" the thing along, but it is brilliant being with them for a few days in the wagon. That new job I have been doing finished with 2 months all around Spain in the Routemaster bus, I've only been back for a couple of weeks, and had ferociously hot weather down in Andalucia. All the best to you and family.

Well, it made it yet again! Switzerland and back in ferociously hot weather, way over 30 degrees every day, and never missed a beat. This time I went via the Ardennes and Luxembourg, spent some time in Luxembourg City on the way back because I have a friend there who works for the same company as me, the tarmac was melting in many places because it was so hot! My children really love spending time in the Roma, I think they are incredible little vans and will be sorry to see this one go. Soon to be replaced with a slightly newer one from Ant.

"This time I went via the Ardennes and Luxembourg, spent some time in Luxembourg City on the way back" Oh, goody - loadsa cheap baccy, then? I'll send you my address, Steve!!! Only slightly green with envy, as the weather here was in the mid 30's all the time you were away. We haven't yet decided about a holiday this year - Bongo, or bike and trailer. You've certainly clocked up some mileage in your machine, haven't you - next one got air con, I wonder? Our Hylo had it - as does the Bongo - don't think I'd buy another vehicle without air con fitted. I also had a cruise control fitted to the Hylo - that was invaluable. With the Bongo I bought, and eventually fitted, a Waeco diy cruise control - dead easy to fit, and works great - no more "dead foot" on long runs!! Mike
