Its only taken the best part of a year to type up a journal of our Romahome trip to Portugal last summer! If anyone was thinking of a similar trip, there are a few "pitfalls" and "musts" that I collected on the journey. I've a similar "work in progress" with a report on our Ireland trip the previous year planned too. Here's the link (hope it works!) I have had a brief read of your website and got a bit carried away reading of your adventures. I am going to pop back to it later when i have more time. I love reading of people's travels now that we are a bit restricted by health problems.
We have been to the parts of Portugal you are talking about but we did it on the buses and trains. It is nice to read of the trip using a Romahome.
i remember catching the bus to the huge statue and by the time we got there the weather was so bad we could not see it as visibility was about 2 inches! We were also the only people there and it was quite out of the way.
Was Sagres the place where there are huge cliffs and the locals risk their lives dangling from the ledges to fish. I remember walking miles and miles to a light house too.
Anyway pastry is cooked so off to kitchen. Will catch up later.

Hi Martin
That's a great blog thanks for posting it, lots of great tips for anyone planning to do the same, I've bookmarked it, I'd love to follow in your footsteps (or should I say tyre tread) one day.

Many thanks for your comments Graham / Viv. I'm glad there was something there for you! On major trips like that one, I seem to have got into the habit of simply scribbling down my thoughts in a note book. Usually thats as far as it ever gets, but this time I got around to typing them up (took the best part of a year though!) It's quite a fun thing to do, and its a great way of capturing the memories. Its all the better if someone else is able to get some value too, so many thanks for your feedback.
Viv Sagres does have huge cliffs on either side of the land into the sea. Its a bit like lands end in Cornwall but a bit sharper! (And it doesn't have a Doctor Who exhibition to spoil the effect!)
