Hi Ant
Poor old dolly has a nasty creak. A mechanic friend had a look and said there is a cracked spring/coily thing (main coil?) on the driver's side, probably done when the shock absorber broke a few months before.
He said it's safe but he can get someone to make another one & replace it. We gave him a Romahome garage's number and they said it's a standard Citroen coil but he thinks not.
We are going away in about 4 weeks and want him to replace this thing before we go - any advice please?

Hi Dolly. You don't say if the spring is the front or rear. I suspect if you're getting a nasty creaking it's likely to be the rear trailing arm bushes on the rear suspension. If the spring has broken and your man doesn't think its a citroen part, then it's probably a spring assistor that has failed. I'm assuming Dolly is a C15, in which case you can replace the two spring assistors with a "Grayston" spring ( part no 31B02H, order tel no 02089741122) the units can be fitted in a few minutes. If the spring is a Citroen original and makes up part of the original suspension, then it is not safe to drive while its broken. Ant

Hi Ant
Thanks for replying. Having broadband probs so only just read this. It is rear - we had new suspension things put in. And Yes Dolly is a C15. I will copy and paste this to show my fixy bloke.
Oh and sorry, should have signed off as Jen!
