Hi everyone. We have just returned from a 5 week tour of (parts of) Scotland and I am now trying to catch up on a mountain of mail, e-mail, junk mail etc.
What has been happening? Have I missed anything important? Five weeks without telephone, e-mail, radio reception is heaven on earth, but does need some re-acclimatisation upon return.
SWMBO has spent the last three days attacking the jungle that (once upon a time) used to be a garden. She has gone out for a girlie evening with friends to catch up on the gossip so I can play on the computer without interruption.
So, what is hot on the small motorhome front?

Thought it was quiet, how was the Dimension, did it meet your expectations?
No radio reception, where were you then, long wave gets everywhere.

We were away for 36 days, it rained on most (about 28 at a guess), it hailed, it snowed, it blew a hooley on many days and yes - a great time had by both of us. Photos not yet sorted so cannot yet show any. Photos are always misleading, no-one takes the in the bad weather, so the sky always seems blue!
The Dimension basically "did what it says on the tin", it lived up to our expectations, giving us more room tha the HyLo (especially useful when it was too windy for the awning), and the built in washroom/loo saved uncomfortable trips out into the cold of the awning or site facilities the other side of the field!
Of course there are teething issues (as with any new vehicle it seems) which we look forward to resolving with the supplier now we are back.
Where did we go - well;
one night stop over in the Lake District, then up to Bunree (bottom of Glencoe), on to Morvich (top end of Loch Duich), on to Skye at the top end of Trotternish peninsular, a one night stop at Kinlochewe then on to Clachtoll (six miles up a twisty hilly single track road from Lochinver) then across to Dunnet Bay (included a 15 minute visit to John o' Groats which was 10 minutes too long!), Down to Culloden, on to Edinburgh and ending up at River Breamish site at Powburn in Northumberland (where the sun finally emerged to visibility). A blast back down the A1 brought us home.
Trip now needs to be analysed to decide where was good and where was not worth re-visiting.
