My wife Jackie and I, started motorcaravanning back in the 80`s. We have had a Devon commer, A devon dodge spacevan, a Freight Rover conversion unknown, A Holdsworth Villa XL VW, A C15 romahome and at present a super romahome berlingo outlook, that we love to bits. We "camp" from January to November in the UK. we look forward to talking to you.

Hi from me too! Wow you sound like you could give some of us a lesson in camping with all that experience - I'm a fair weather camper really! Only tax my van for 6 months of the year!

hello boys and girls, J and I began campervanning when taking our kids on holiday got too expensive and we decided we could do more with a van.Our first cost us £300 and we loved her, all vans are female, right? She could only do 50 downhill but we got to devon eventually. Before the campers we spent some years travelling the canals in narrowboats. you could do alot with little money then.

...... all vans are female, right? ........ Welcome to the forum, but I beg to disagree. ;D All vehicles are male. My motorhomes were definitely male, my cars and caravans have all been male. I wouldn't get in something that was the same sex as me!

I would not dare to disagree with a lady, I was raised properly to show respect and I have the scars to prove it. But, mine is a lady, perhaps we should park them side by side, we might get one of those tiny R10`s

Hi Ian and Jackie, welcome and hope to see you around some time. Good idea to camp all year, judging by the difficulty we had with booking sites in June this year looks like more of us may be joining you!!

Hi Viv, sorry it took so long to reply but we have been out and about. We have just got back from Peterborough, the caravan club have a great main site there, and its handy for the fens.We find that a romahome is SO well insulated that we can camp despite rotten weather. We can manage without an awning, but it is nicer with one, if only the remaining harrisons at romahome were not so stupidly expensive, so we use an old Royal with a homemade bellows to join the van to it. NEXT STOP EXMOOR. School holidays and recession have filled the more popular sites. Ian
