Hi , I have a 1994 C15D Romahome. This has a small security device in the central console. I usually leave the tab in place but even if I remove it after starting , every once in a while the starter will fail to be energised. , which is what happens if the security tab is left out. It will always start if I just flash a jumper from the battery to the solenoid live. I would short out the security device but it has 3 wires so no clues there. Is this device self-contained or is there a related relay - what do I need to replace ?
Thanks
Ian

Hi Ian. The device you have is a retro fit immobiliser, If it was my van I'd trace the three wires and remove the whole thing, it probably only cuts into an ignition wire that could be joined up again as original. The last thing you need is an immobiliser that is developing a mind of its' own! Ant

Thanks Ant . I thought it was original , if as you say its an aftermarket device ,I will trace the wires and remove it ( Later perhaps when it stops raining ,if it ever does,

Hi Ant It turned to be WACO immobiliser and it wasn't as simple as just snip a couple of wires and rejoin them , there was a relay and wires joined in from the switch onwards , but eventually sorted them all out ( I hope ) and it is starting OK now without the immobiliser , all I have to do is put all the parcel trays and steering column shrouds back again.
Thanks for your help.
Ian
