Hi Everyone! What a cool site this is After many years as a VW bus owner, I can no longer support my rust and welding habit, and have decided to buy a Citroen C15 Romahome ;D They are cool little campers, aren't they? We went ot see one today in Glasgow, it's done 179,000 miles though, and I am a bit worried it might blow up, as that seems a lot of miles.... it's a 1700 diesel engine I think, and it's the kind of Romahome that looks like a car / van - not the Bambi / Rascal type (sorry if I sound derranged, I don't know much about these campers yet!) Do you think it's too much milage, or is that an impossible qusetion to answer? Anyway, looking forward to meeting you all - What a lot of interesting info here! Best Wishes, Liz

Hi Liz
Welcome to the site.
You don't say what year the Hitop is. The Citroen engine can do lots of miles but they must be serviced regularly (like all cars), I guess new oil is the most important thing.
Don't kid yourself that you will see an end to welding, the GRP body goes on and on but they are still tin underneath.

Hi Derek, Thank you very much for replying - this is a great site! The C15 we viewed yesterday is a 1992, and I suspect it hasn't been serviced regularly, as the guy selling it would have said so - it's a big plus point! I guess this is tellling us to steer clear of this one and put some more money to get a lower milage one, as we are worried....it's on ebay with a buy it now of £2,800 but we were going to bid on it. There was certainly no nasty smake or anything horrible when he started the engine from cold but that means nothing does it? We are not mechanics or anything, so need to be careful - but thanks you for taking the time to reply, Best Wishes, Liz

Hi Liz
Welcome to the forum, thanks for the kinds words, there are lots of folk on here who have probably been through every possible scenario with their small motorhomes so there is probably someone who can help with any problem.
Hope you find a nice van soon.
Graham

Hi Graham! Thanks very much for saying hello! We have decided to give the high milage one a miss I think, as we went to see our local mechanic who said it's very high milage...... So, the search continues, haha! Will keep you posted!
