How many of you use the romahome as your main vehicle and is it acceptable as such. I am now solo and can foresee a time when I cannot afford the car and caravan as I have to pay storage. regards Robin

Hi Robin, I use my romahome (1990 high top) as my only vehicle. Only problem found is finding convenient parking space, since many carparks in Truro now use height restriction barriers. Otherwise it has been fine. Good luck with any future purchase. Dadsdahlia.

We use our Outlook more than we use our Berlingo car. When it dies or we can't afford 2 vehicles I am quite sure that we will manage with just the Romahome. My father (87) and my grandson (2) both prefer travelling in the Romahome. Th child seat fits very easily on the rear of the pulman seats.

We use our Dimension as our only vehicle and apart from a few height barriers it works out well. In your local area you will know where the barriers are and will be able to avoid them. Depending on where you live, make use of buses and trains for local journeys. Buses are really good when you reach that 'certain age'!

Hi Robin, I do have a car and an old Romahome Hi top but would be quite happy to drive the Roma as only vehicle. I can park it in a normal car space and find driving on some country lanes a doddle. Going shopping is ok in hot weather as I put the fridge on to keep fridgy things cold. Sunshine

Hi Robin, I use my Outlook as my main car. I did have a C15 Hylo for three years and liked it so much that I sold my car and van for a newer one. The downside is getting into car-parks, but it hasn't been too much of a problem. It's great running one instead of two vehicles and so much cheaper. Also my young adult children are not insured for my van, so cost goes down even more, and my vehicle doesn't get purloined by others!

Hi Robin, I use my C15 as my main vehicle. I sold my car in order to get my Romahome, it hasn't been too much of a problem so far. Being a pensioner and widowed running two vehicles is out of the question. I love it. Bryan

I use my HyLo as my only vehicle and it's no problem - quite economical on fuel and only slightly more expensive to insure than my car. The only problems are that it's a bit difficult if I have a large box to transport as the back door isn't as wide as a car boot, and I hate reversing it so I end up parking miles away from the supermarket door! I don't take it into multi-storeys, but there's usually an alternative. There are only two of us in the family so I don't usually need the passenger seats and I keep it with the beds made up, but it does have seatbelts if I need them.

I would really like to do this but there is the problem of bikes... and cannot see a way around this at all! I am always carrying bikes and have a bike rack permenantly on my current car. I know some of you say you carry a bike inside the motorhome but we carry them so frequently it would be a real pain.

I use my Romahome C15 hytop as my main vehicle with no problem whatsoever, parking is no problem, it takes up the same room as a large car, I am disabled so my blue badge emables me to use wide bays, I find it cheap to run and never (so far) had a height problem, happy pensioner indeed. Bryan

I heard a cautionary tale today from a fellow camper. They used a car park with their modest sized motorhaome, and did not see a sign saying 'cars and motorcycles only'. They paid the penalty, even though they fitted into the bay.
I do not think I would risk it with my Hylo, even if it is car size.
