Hi, Sorry, but I'm a complete novice. I've got a Duo Plus that is not fitted to hook-up to mains although there is wiring in place but not the external plug etc. That doesn't worry me too much as there is only me and I 'm sure I can manage by relying on the 12v battery which is in excellent condition. What I am not sure about is how much and for how long one can use the 12v supply . I only intend running the internal ceiling light and perhaps one or two of the little spotlights for perhaps a couple of hours at a time. I have bought a 7" portable TV which I may watch for two or three hours at a time also but nothing else. (I'll run the fridge either on gas or only when the engine is running if I use the battery.) How long do you think I can run these without draining the battery?
(By the way, if I wanted to install the necessary equipment to hook-up, has anyone any idea how much that would cost?)

Hi Gill
We have stayed on campsites for three nights without electricity and using a small colour tv for a couple of hours a night but at the end the battery started to get a bit low.
Then again by that time we needed to get some more food supplies anyway so the battery gets recharged when you drive off site obviously.

We have managed to last for a week with no EHU and didn't move the van or run the engine. The battery was still in the middle of it's 'OK' range. We don't have a TV, but have charged the laptop from the leisure battery. In winter and using the Eberspacher heater we have lasted about 3/4 days and it was very cold when we did that so used the heater a lot.
