Hi Ant, The 12V socket on the cooker of my HyLo has come loose, in fact it is hanging from the wires. Is it possible for me to fix this myself? Presumably the cooker has to be lifted out to get at the back of the socket. Is this something that I can attempt myself, bearing in mind the precautions with gas pipes etc: Eugene.

Hi Eugene. A man of your calibre could surely sort the socket. The cooker needs to be lifted but it will come up with its gas connected. The trickiest bit is refitting the cooker while keeping the black trim round the edge. Ant

Ant, Thanks for your confidence in me! I have taken out the four screws that appear to be holding the cooker, but I still cannot lift it. Are there more screws that have to be taken out, or is it stuck down with the rubber? Eugene.

Eugene - just a thought - rather than battling to remove the cooker - could you not stick the socket back in place with some industrial adhesive - "Sticks like Sh*t" is one product - try Tool Station.

Hi Eugene This is a pic of the socket on the Hylo that I used to have, I can't see if the screws are torx or posidrive. If they are posidrive I would expect them to be woodscrews. Have yours fallen out, may just need to put some more screws in. They could be torx and have nuts behind. Can't remember which. If you need to lift out the hob and want to be sure that it has a flexible hose (lunken hose), you can feel it at the back of the grill going round to the red gas taps. You probably can see it with a mirror and torch, it is silver and braided. When you get the hob to lift be careful of the wires that go to the electronic ignition and the earth cable Good luck Derek

Hi Eugene. The cooker is just stuck a bit, you can tap it up from below. Also your 12v socket is not like Derecks', from memory yours just has a plastic nut behind it that needs to be tightened. Ant
