Ant - do you know anything about the aircon system, please ? I was travelling the whole day on the hottest day so far this year and the Romahome, despite the aircon being on, was so hot I had to stop every hour to keep myself awake. There doesn't appear to be any way of controlling the temperature apart from the AC switch being on, the full blast of the fan and firmly switched to cold. My vehicle is 2002 registered, turbo diesel. Thanks.

Hi Carole. It sounds like the air con has lost its gas. If you don't use air con systems regularly the seal around the air con pump pully dries out and allows the gas to escape. Even in the winter you shoud run the air con, it actually act as a drier as well as a cooler so in the winter put the temp knob to red, the air in knob to recirculate, switch the air con on and run the fan. All the damp air in the van will now be dried ( inc damp upholstery)via the air con condenser and the pump seal will be maintained. You need to get the system regassed and checked for leaks, if the seal is not too bad the lubricant in the gas will rescue the seal again. Ant

I was afraid you'd say that, Ant. Thank you though - as least I now know more or less for sure. The hints for the winter are good too. Fortunately, my garage is so dry I don't normally have to worry about damp but I will make a point of running the air con when I am camping in the winter. Brrrrrrrrrrrr.
