Hi Ant, I have got more problems, now the Eberspacher heater in my HyLo will not work. I have checked the fuses under the passenger seat and they are all OK. The indicator light on the Zig unit comes on when I press the button, and I have tried pressing it twice. Is there another fuse that I have overlooked? Regards, Eugene

Hi Eugene. Check your battery voltage is up, if in doubt run the engine while attempting to light the heater, if the voltage is low you can only attempt to light it 3 times before it locks out and requires a new "ecu". Turn the thermostat up to maximum, check the programable function is off, there should be a "P" with a diagonal line through it on screen. Push the on/off button and check the symbol of wavey lines has come on to the screen. wait 40 seconds to allow the lighting up cycle to complete. You should by now be able to hear the pump ticking under the van, if so all is well. If not it may need plugging into a diagnostic machine to ask it whats up? Ant

Ant, You have me even more confused now. the Zig unit does not have a screen, only a scale with an indicator which shows the Voltage for the engine or the van, which can be selected with a switch. I suppose that there are any number of variations of this system. Eugene.

Sorry Eugene, I thought your Hylo had the earlier heater control. Yours just has the on, off and fan button and is not programable. So turn your thermostat up fully, make sure you have plenty of battery voltage in your leisure battery ( I'd run the engine just to be sure) and then push the on button, leave for 40 seconds before pushing anything else. I suspect the problem is of low voltage, hopefully the ecu has not locked out. Ant

Ant, I tried to start the heater as you suggested with the engine running but nothing happened. I found a few days ago that the battery charger switch under the passenger seat had been inadvertently switched off. Does this mean that the unit has locked out? And more importantly does this mean an expensive replacement of a part? Regards, Eugene.

Eugene. It might have locked, although the switch under the seat is purely for mains charging and wouldn't make any difference to the battery charging while the engine is running. Ant

Ant, I think the the heater must have locked out, what do I have to do to get it unlocked, is a replacement part involved? What is the 'ecu' that you mentioned? regards, Eugene.

Hi Eugene. The "ECU" is the part that has probably locked out and needs replacing, not a cheap thing, approx £300. If you look at the paper work for the heater you should have a booklet that lists the Eberspacher service centres. I know theres one in Yate N Bristol ( Halls Auto 01454 319722). Thanks Ant
