design fault with outlook. the sink will not drain, Ant gave advice but it didnot really help, removing panels under seats did not show drain tube, one chap said he felt "inside" the waste water tank, he must have arms like an octopus, there is no way to access the tank top, without using a garage ramp and dropping the entire tank. Freeborn Godalming want a lot of money to do just this, I am reluctant to pay hundreds just to make the bloody sink drain away. why a waste tank anyway? the C15 had a straight drop down to an external waste container, usually a small bucket. The onboard waste tank just creates a problem and cash for Freeborn. I AM NOT A HAPPY BUNNY

Ian. Call in when you're in my part of the world, ( just check I'm here before you come) and I'll sort your drain. It's not worth falling out with an otherwise well designed van for the sake of half an hour of tweeking. Ant

We had a little problem with ours not draining, so I folded a little plastic bag over the tiny sink drainer and pumped it up and down like a drainer. Now, what with me being a woman and not trained in physics or anything, this horrified my husband (who not only being a man, is also a physics type person). His first thought was that my little improvised plunger would put immense pressure on a closed system, then he revised this view accepting that if it were a closed system, ti would never drain in the first place. Now, I suspect that Ant is holding his head in horror at this point, and will give all sorts of reasons to not take my action, but in mitigation, we were on the Isle of Islay, and my husband wanted to start dismantling our van miles from home. A.x

Sorry for lack of clarity, I pumped the folded bag up and down like a plunger over the drainer, not' like a drainer' as I said earlier. A

Hi Aileen The only two questions must be: Did it work? Did it ruin the plumbing? If it's yes to the first and no to the second then congratulations on some lateral thinking.

Yes it worked, and no it didn't ruin anything. After hubby's initial panic, he decided that it can't be a closed system or it would never drain ever! My late dad taught me this trick many years ago (although it was with a bin bag on a blocked toilet when my small children had decided that flushing most of the household's toilet roll in one go would be fun!|)

aileen. You'd be very unlucky to break anything in the plumbing of a Romahome, I've been driven to using a 120psi airline sealed round the drain with a large grommit to clear one before now. I got very wet but it worked without any lasting problems with the plumbing. Thanks Ant

I had this problem with my HyLo when I first had it three years ago. I had purchased directly from Freeborn although the vehicle was two years old. To cut a long story short, a potentially extremely very unhappy customer was turned around when Romahome did a plumbing upgrade for me. I don't know how old your vehicle is but I understand this was a factory fitted change from about 2005.
Food for thought, maybe ? Carole

Thanks Carole, Interesting that I am not alone with this stupid problem, Ant has offered to sort it, but I think roma could let us customers know when they issue an upgrade to sort a problem, rocket science its not! we are often down your way, hope to meet someday!
