Hi all, Well it's offical, I have just sold Bilbo He has gone to a very nice gent from East Sussex so if you see Bilbo about it will be with the new owner. I am still coming up to the meet in September but will be staying in my tent, you don't get rid of me that easy (mmmmmmm wonder if I can get away with a whole camper this time instead of just the lights ) Looking forward to catching up again soon Cheers Dave

Hi Dave
That must have been a bit of a wrench after all the hard work you did on Bilbo. I bet its like losing an old friend.
So what's the plan now, are you getting another van or what?

Hi Graham, Yea it was a bit of a wrench, to be honest there was nearly a little crying done ( sorted out by drinking whisky and eating chocolate ) I am not too sure what I am doing now, I keep bouncing between getting another van, another motorbike or a new plane, but for the rest of this summer I will be in the tent before heading home for a three month stint in begining of next year. Cheers Dave

OOOh Dave! All that work! What about the Moira Folk fest 21-23rd weekend - you coming in your tent then? You'd be most welcome to join me and Linda for meals and sitting in comfort! ;D And of course a bit of jammin! Edited to add: same offer for the meet in Sept!

Dave - surely there aren't two of us on this Forum that like bikes and planes?
I'm into motorbikes and microlights - are you also?

Mike
Hi Mike, Yep fraid so, I have been flying since I was 17 years old, started on C-150, C-152 got my PPL in NZ then got very heavily involved in Aerobatics. Got rated in C-172, C-182, PA28, Seneca 2 and then moved to microlights and did a Technam rating. I am thinking about buying a Rans S6 or maybe a Minimax or KR2 to play with over here. I have also been into bikes for as long as I can remember, Started on NSR125 then got a ZZR 600 Vfr400 and a BMW F650 still love em but can't have all the toys so am trying to decide what I want the most I have also just got back into skydiving, so the idea of the plane really appeals at the moment as I could fly myself to the drop site, do a weekend of jumping while camping at the airfield, then fly home. Do you have a plane at the moment? if so what are you flying? Which bike are you on at the moment, or are you like me and not allowed all the toys you want!! Are you coming up to the meet, if so I would love to catch up for a chat. Cheers Dave

OK on all that, Dave - no plane at the moment - but have owned a Rans S4 and a T300 Thruster - but never got a licence - so they were true fetling toys, really!!
Do quite a bit of flying in my mate's S6 912 taildragger - he usually sits back, and I fly it from the rh seat - he's very trusting!! Lovely aircraft - there's something about doing a nice landing in a taildragger that you don't get from a nosewheel aircraft, as I'm sure you know.
Bikes - oh dear, 10 at the last count, plus 2 quad bikes - see, I am dafter than you!!

Cheers Dave
Sounds good to me! Strikes me as funny - I was going to sell my van and you offered to let me stay in yours for the meet in September - now the situation is reversed and I'm doing the offering! ;D Can't wait myself, so don't forget to bring your guitar! JayJay

Hi Dave,
Like you- I was shocked to relinquish Sooty- after so much hard work and she was a fine example! I still have the odd days when I wonder whether it was the right decision.
But lording it up nearly every weekend in the warm and comfort of my new 25ft twin axle caravan._ time will tell!
