Hi Folks, Well i'm really excited finding out more info about my little caravan! Until last night i had no idea they were so rare and desirable, in fact it was going to be used as a chicken shed! Last year a lady in my village moved into a home and her family gutted the hse to sell. A friend asked what would happen to campervan and caravan in drive and they actually gave him both for FREE!!!!! I bought the campervan from him a few months later and the caravan came free with it (well it cost me a crayfish supper for him, good deal me thinks!). Was scouring ebay last night when i noticed one on there going for crazy money! Its in good condition except for the broken roof light and an appalling attempt by friends wife to reupholster the walls inside. I think i will now fully renovate it but can anyone tell me where i can get a new roof light cover and any advice about how best to renovate would be appreciated (eg keep it original or modernize). Please let me know any thing you think is useful!!!!! Dave

Wow - you lucky spud! I'd have like one of those myself but thought (even on ebay) they were selling for a lot of money! Can't help on renovation but I think there's another chap on here who owns one and on the main web site are some photos & description: smallmotorhome.co.uk/romini.htmlperhaps andy could send you some info. See if you can find his posts (do a search) and see if he has an email to contact him with by clicking on his details. Or post a message for him on the forum. What kind of light is it? I have a spare from my caravan somewhere! smallmotorhome.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=saleandwanted&action=display&thread=2277I took it out of my van as I was forever hitting my head on it (not very well thought out place to have put it methinks) but its a single oblong shape and is a florescent one. good luck, JayJay ;D

Best is to ask And - in the 'ask ant' section of this forum - he might have a spare - you never know! Or he will probably know someone who does have a skylight. These guys look good: www.caravan-parts.org/but you may have to 'adapt' a larger one or something. Best ask Ant! ;D

Hi Dave
Welcome to the forum, what a lovely story about your Romini, I hope you have lots of fun restoring it to its former glory. They are lovely little vans and quite unique too.
