We are off to Sunny Skegness on Saturday August 22nd. We plan to explore the coast line from King's Lynn to Grimsby with occasional forays inland to Lincoln. Can any members suggest any ''NOT TO BE MISSED'' places in the area. We are interested in market towns, heritage buildings, the quaint and photogenic. A bit of shopping thrown in as well.
Thanks, in anticipation, Al.

Hi If you have anything approaching a passing interest for Parrots, I'd recommend the National Parrot Sanctuary in Friskney, just outside Skegness: www.parrotsanctuary.co.uk/but do take ear plugs :-) Jane

Hi Alan There is a great CL just down the road from the Parrot Sanctuary. See our review HERE. It doesn't have a toilet or showers but does have electric hook ups and they've just installed free wifi. A pub and a shop within walking distance and its handy for Skeggy and Boston which is a lovely market town. Graham

Hi, I live in Alford, Lincolnshire and can recomend Market towns like Alford and Louth for a visit.....market days for alford are Tues and Fri.....and if memory serves me for louth it's wed and fri(but not too sure on the louth days) Also a couple of good sites to stay at with entertainment....Tattershall "lakes" and North Somercotes "lakeside"
Cheers Jez

Thanks for the suggestions, I was planning on visiting Alford, Louth and Boston, but I think I will give the parrots a miss, a few seagulls will be enough for us !
Has anyone been to Grimsby ? I was interested to know if you can look around the harbour, or is it all fenced off ?

I went on a school trip years ago to the harbour....and i'm pretty sure you can look around, and i went a couple of years ago(i was desperate for some Sea Bass for a BBQ and the supermarkets had none)......i got the sea bass from this bloke on a small boat.........but i'm not entirely sure if i was meant to be there....but he took my money and the sea bass were amazing!
