Hi Sooz... Panic not, but I don't like the sound of worn front tyre walls, and I am suspicious of a choice of treads including 'wet tyres'. I had trouble enough finding tyres the correct size for my 2000 C15 Hylo. I decided to replace all 4 tyres back in January, and seem to remember discovering that Michelin have stopped making the narrow CA tyres recommended by Romahome in the handbook. Hence the problem to track down something else that fitted.
What make and size did your man fit on the front of your van? If they are oversize (albeit the same size as the old ones), you should take care to minimise speed and distance on full lock. That might have caused the old tyres to rub the body/suspension and wear the tyre walls.

Other tyre manufacturers make tyres to fit C15s. When we had one I fitted Matador tyres bought mail order from Blackcircles, delivered to and fitted by a local tyre fitter as part of the deal.
Ant has said recently in another post that oversize tyres are not a problem on the front of a c15 but they certainly are on the rear dues to the small clearance between the tyres and the chassis. In fact often the first sign of wear in the rear suspension bushes on a C15 is a puncture and on inspection the inside tyre wall is damaged. It happened to me.

Hi Roger, Thanks for the info on tyres. When the garage guy fitted mine I did ask if they were the right size and quality for the van and he assured me they were. I didn't note the make etc but will let you know. They look the same size as my rear tyres which are fine, but then I'm not an expert. I had been told by the garage that sold me the van to take care to get suitable tyres when replacing them as most standard car tyres won't be good enough or fit well. I'll check my new ones and fingers crossed that the garage got it right. I trust him to do the right thing as he's not a rip off merchant like other garages I've been warned about and is always friendly and helps me find the most economic way to do repairs. (He's on the look out for me for a good second hand hood from the scrap yards as mine is rusting away and will fit it at my next service). Thanks for the advice, Sooz.

The tyres should be "reinforced" that is tyres designed for vans having the correct load index because of carrying a load
