HI Didn't know where to put this but our hytop has finally gone to the great happy camping ground. She needed more TLC than I could afford to give. We will still be able to camp has we have a MPV and a Caranex so we will have to use that for a while to see how it goes I suppose that with a bed in the back still makes us small motorhome campers. YOURS IN CAMPING FOREVER. Malcolm & Imogen

Sorry to hear that Malcolm and Imogen, hopefully it won't stop you camping and perhaps in the future you can get another van, please keep us informed how you go on with your MPV, you are certainly still welcome on here no matter how small or large your unit is.

Carry on camping, both..... I had to dispatch a 1972 Mark I Transit Dormobile to its last resting place some 8 years ago. I was very sad, but I got back into camping with a tent or two, and now am truly back in the fold with my Hylo. Unlike football fans in Norwich and Ipswich, we are united in camping. Hope to meet you one day....

Hi Malcolm & Imogen, Relax. We were also campervanless for a while, so we used a Renault Espace and a larger awning, which we hooked up to the side doors. This set up also meant that you could leave the tent and chattels on site while you went off sightseeing with the van. If you plan to sleep in the van, just make sure that you have something (foam etc.) to smooth the floor surface for sleeping - the carpet edge braiding and small cut-outs for seat fixings are hardly noticeable until you have to lie in them ! Alternatively, campbeds will fit the Caranex - which makes a great annex once you get the knack of how to put it up. Biggest problem we had was with Campsite Reception staff trying to decide which category fitted our outfit's description......its not a caravan....its not exactly a tent ....nor is it a motorcaravan.........its a....a....a......??
