Hi,
I have recently purchased a C15D based Roamhome Hitop. During my search for one of these vehicles I noticed that many had severe rust problems at the top of the drivers and passenger doors where the windows wind down into them. Having seen the vehicle in the rain I understand why. The drain off from the "Luton" part pours straight onto this area of the doors. Is there a commercvial solution to this problem or is it just a case of trapping some polythene in the top of the doors and draping it over the affected area to divert the drain off. I would dearly like to stop this problem arising in a few years on my own vehicle. Hope this makes sense!
Many thanks TC

When we had a C15 I looked at the Fiamma stick on guttering but never got round to doing anything about it. Our Outlook has a similar problem but the quality of the doors is so much better

TC. Firstly if you've got C15 without rusty bits on the doors you've got a rare beastie. If the paint is undamaged then frequent polishing will keep the seal on the paint good and reduce the risk of rust getting a hold. If the paint has some cracks or damage already then sadly its too late and you can only treat as it appears. Ant

Hi, Many thanks Peter and Ant. There is only a very small rust bubble at the bottom of one door but my concern was to keep the top clear as it is at the moment. I have had a look at the Fiamma stick on guttering and will probably try some of that. Also I have significantly blathered the doors with polish, so hopefully I will keep them rust free for a while longer. The vehicle is a 51 plate but has only done 34,000 miles and seems to have been kept in good order. Once again many thanks.
