Have seen a couple of these whilst away. Look really nice and am interested in finding out more. Does anyone know anything about the manufacturer and the quality.
A couple of things immediately look not so good as a Romahome:
1. The luton has cupboard doors so may not be able to cram as much in, particularly our new bedding!!!
2. Not sure if bed can be made up in U shape.
Would appreciate any advice or information.

They seem a little overbodied and I would want to know about suspension upgrades and ground clearance at the rear

Thanks peterholden
Did reply a minute ago but it has disappeared!! Anyway thanks for the comments and will certainly add them to my list. Not sure what overbodied means but assume it means that the body seems too big for the base vehicle.
May just stick to Romahome and am quite happy with what we have but you know what it is like, always like to look at different styles!

Hi Viv I was interested in these but I came to the same conclusion as Peter. It is a very large body for a Berlingo chasis, both wider and longer than the Romahome. I think it would be a bit of a lump to drive, not very car like at all. I would rather go for a hitop van conversion without the rear overhang. The bed layout is shown as two singles or a double, no half and half like the non pullman duo. It does look very nice on the web site though (dont they all www.nuventure.co.uk/surf.htmlDerek

Interestingly, my main concern was the bed layout as we like to have the U shape. Also we do stuff loads into the Luton on the Romahome and i remember the luton on our Autosleeper duetto was not as versatile as it had a door on it. I really do cram the luton with the new Romalays that I made along with the two chairs and table and washing up bowl and all sorts of stuff as the trip goes on!
i appreciate the views on the large body and will probably stick to the Romahome but may look at upgrading to a pullman style as I do like the table layout.

Can you make up the pullman duo bed into the U shape ?

Oh dear! I can see me designing and making my own van to my own spec. I know just what i want and certainly what I do not!!
Had not thought that the pullman version might not allow the U shape bed.

I have the pullman style Outlook and can make up a semi extended u-shape single bed so am sure you could make up a u shape double bed by removing the table. The difference is that you only slide over the cushions on one side and the back rest. The seating on the table side does not have backrests only the bed extender which you leave in place if it is not needed.
I also wondered about the Nuventure Surf as it is slightly bigger and appears to be more sophisticated in its cupboards etc. In the end decided to go for the Outlook and have been more than happy.
Lizzie.

Thank you all so much, it certainly pays to talk!
After sleeping on it we realise that the Outlook probably has more of the features we require than the NuVenture.
So we will probably stay with the Outlook but will certainly look at a Pullman version if the need arises to take a little passenger.

Hi Viv We sold the big Roller Team coachbuit that you saw at the last meet, and bought an R40. We looked at the NuVenture Quattro but it didn't catch our imagination like the Romahome. You will be wecome to look it over a the next meet, by then we will have had our three weeks living in it in Wales, which is where we are now. Coin & Janet

Thanks Coin and Janet
Wish you lovely travels in your new van. Would love to look around next time, I love looking at inside of motorhomes. We have only seen the Nu Venture on the roads or parked up and have not looked inside, it just seemed a good idea to have the square cut sides (so to speak). It is 2" wider and 8" longer and a bit higher than an Outlook but from the feedback, maybe that is just too big for the van type.
Will still try and have a look at one as I am intrigued as to how it all fits in, separate loo compartment as well and sink and cooker next door to each other.

I have looked in the NU Venture and love the furnishings and furniture but I am a caravanner so take no notice of me. LOL

Apparently NuVenture are now doing a new version that has a side door instead of back. Got the leaflet today but it is now 17'3" in length so to me that is not suitable. The older version was 16'9" and the Romahome Outlook is only 15'7" which suits me well. As it is only 1.6 ltr then it really is not for us.
Our main priority is small as possible with reasonable comfort and easy driving so will be sticking to our little van.

Hi sorry for late reply but I've not looked in here for a while. I have a nu venture surf but this is my first van so can't compare it to the outlook. What I can say is it's very easy to drive, car-like really and the mileage is good. I reckon I get 40-45 mpg. On the inside the luton has two doors but once you open them it doesn't restrict what you can cram in. Inside the luton there's also a fixing for the table leg. The toilet is a thetford cassette type that swivels so you can either use it inside the compartment (there's a light in there) or you can open up the door, turn a catch and it divides the loo from the seating/sleeping area. I'm not sure what you mean by a U shaped bed but I'd be surprised if it doesn't have that option, as there seems to be so many sleeping options. You can just use the single while retaining the two seats and table on the other side. Or you can remove the table and have a single either side (both have fold down extensions behind the driver/passenger seat). Or you can have a large longways double, or kingsize. Or a single, double or kingsize across the van. If you have any other questions I'll try to answer them if I can

I also own a nuventure surf.it is my first van and is over 10 years old with 80,000 on the clock.I find it easy to drive and also economical.I normally camp alone with my 2 dogs.i chose the nu venture because of the bed set up inside.i use one single bed and this leaves enough room on floor for the dogs.several others I looked at had double pull out beds which then covered most of the floor space.
