Hi Ant,
this is something I have seen mentioned before, need to go to Specsavers as I can't find the threads.
We washed our R20 yesterday for the 2nd time since we got it in March. (No it wasn't that dirty, it hasn't been used that much and is kept in a garage).
An area of the paint on the rear door hinges, about 2 inches by 1 inch has come off. What paint do we use to touch this up with. Do we get white Hammerite or would it be a Citroen White colour and if so, do you know the number we would get?
I noticed some paint is also a bit bare on other parts of the hinges./
Thanks,
Baldy

Hi Baldy, We had this problem with our Hylo - new 2005. The paint was flaking off within a couple of months. Took it back to Freeborn and they took all the paint off back to the bare metal. It looked better than flaking paint and doesn't look out of place.

Hi Baldy. The paint has always been a weak point on the rear hinges on any of the Berlingos, the problem is the oil residue on the galvanising that makes it very difficult to get the paint to stick. You can try cleaning the exposed areas with a thinners like hammerite ( white spirit will not work, it too has an oil content), then paint the hinge again. I always heat the hinge with a hot air gun just to get the paint to bake on a bit. Be prepared for the paint to peel again in the future! Ant
