well, believe it or not it is a camp site, albeit self serficiant. Crackaig, Brora Scotland A9. Untill youve been there you have no idea what you have been missing with your modern fcilities overtaking the whole joy of wild camping. My good ladie likend it to "being in the Bahamas but without the burning heat". We were on a round trip via john o groats the plan was a night at each camp (we stayed a week??). I COULD WRITE PAGES ON THIS needless to say if you like the sea, beaches in your van and sea ceatures following you ready to smile for a picture shot-? why are you still here. Its a bit like being in the sand dunes but your on grannate, the beach is 12 feet away and the seals watch and follow you (even as you open the door as you wake up). The private beach/estate has a river running at each end out to the sea so the walks and views are outstanding. The site itself on entry takes you through a time warp back centuries as you go under a disused stream train bridge, to the more modern 2nd WW look out towers then on to the 1960's amenities (clean with constant free hot water). And all for £10 a night or £300 a year?? NO THIS ISNT AN ADVERT we just want to share our good fortune of finding the place. ps i hope the picture came through. ttfn steve
