What a dramatic looking site. Thank you for posting this. Just from the photo I love it. I don't know about others, but I can tolerate a lot from a site if the location/view is good. Having said that, if you get location and wonderful toilets......bliss!

Hi Wendy Great pictures and thanks for yours and John's company over the weekend, the cake was up to the usual standard and the treacle tart was to die for. Downside: I put on 3lb. Aileen - its a lovely site set in a disused quarry within a country park and a short walk from Buxton town centre, the toilets are the usual Caravan Club standard (which is always very good) and a special mention for the fish and chip van, it comes on Saturday night and the fish and chips are lovely. (Cake, treacle tart, fish and chips, no wonder I put on 3lb). We will be putting a review on the website shortly. Graham

I live not far away from here - I go to Buxton occasionally for days out. One day trip involved meeting up with a friend of mine who was sited on this very campsite!
There were flocks of goldfinches everywhere!
I always wonder if it's colder in a disused quarry at night (or in the day) as statistics suggest that the temp is always near zero due to some kind of climate control to do with quarries.
What a stunning pic! ;D Sounds like you had great fun!
