Hi all, We have been a voyeur of this great site for the last month or so let me introduce us, we are Jonnie and Charl and we the proud owners of 'Sid' a 1990 Romahome C15 Hytop. Currently being repaired as we bought it as a Category D write off!!
But fear not it was just the rear shell and we are sure he will be back on the road in a matter of weeks. I have managed, with the help of this site to sort out most of the problems, all bar one, the fuel cap. I have managed to get a new water cap but not fuel cap. I have bought a fuel cap from Ebay for a Citroen C15 but on trying it yesterday it doesn't fit! Is there anyone out there that could help, either with a part number, stockiest or some knowledge of where to get one, or what one looks like?...
We need to get 'Sid' MOT'd next week so we might be able to get away before it gets all too cold. Many Thanks in advance for the help I am sure we will get.
Welcome Jonnie, Charl and Sid, can't answer your question I'm afraid but I'm sure someone will be along soon to help, meanwhile welcome to the site and hope you have many great outings with Sid.
Hi Jonnie and Charl. I'm affraid you've stumbled on one of the hardest parts to get for a C15, I know that seems a bit strange but you can buy any other part very easily and normally cheaply but a simple fuel cap is a bit of a nightmare. Many places list a C15 cap, then as you have already found out, you get it home and it doesn't fit! I have used the universal locking cap which has a bit that fits to the filler neck secured by a small screw, then the cap fits to it and locks. A trip to the local scrap yard is also worth a go. Lastly if all else fails a Citroen dealer will order you one, just refer to it as a C15 D van not a Romahome. Hope this helps Ant
Try your local car accessories shop or motor factor, make sure you ask for a Citroen c15 van, (C15D if it is a diesel, if on the off chance it is a petrol ask for C15E). You could also try German, swedish and French or Eurocarparts both of whom are on the Internet.

Thanks all for the advice, due to the repairs taking longer than expected, its not going for its MOT until either the end of this week or early next week, BUT I do have a genuine cap on order from my local main dealer, lets just hope that fits !! At only £14 it seams a cheap option as well. Again many thanks for all your advice, I'm sure it won't be long before the next question ;-)
