Hi there
Can I pick your brains about little vans? I'm an absolute complete novice and am toying with the idea of getting a small van.
I'd love a van that didn't look too much like a camper van if you know what I mean (so I could also use it for work as I carry a lot of gear (+children) around in the back sometimes)
I've seen a few pictures of a Renault Kangoo with a roof that lifts up - is this a van that has been converted? I think I like the look of this type of size vehicle but there don't seem to be many on sale?
Any pointers to small vans welcome - I'd like to investigate further so me and my kids can go and have some fun times! With a small van!
Thanks

Hi Sheppy You say kids in the plural, how many do you need to carry? Many micro campers only have one passenger seat. Here is a link to my page about micro campers (one I prepared earlier ) hairyoldgit.t35.com/micro_motorhomes.htmlThese are the ones I know about, if you are looking at second hand there are several others, they were normally built to special order. Your other option is to go slightly bigger and get a jap import MPV, they often have seats that fold down to beds. Hope this helps Derek

Hi Sheppy
Just a thought and an additional choice for you!
What about a Bongo, kids love Bongos,a Bongo is a first class everyday motor too its a true "do all" vehicle. They are very easy to drive, reasonably economical and very good value for money.I have had mine for over 3 1/2 years its been great!! I have had a few waivers along the way by looking and being tempted by other campers but in the end decided to stay with the Bongo as it does it all!!
If you need any more info just let me know

Thanks Derek and Dabs!
Thats very helpful and a great place to start!
At the moment I have 1 little boy but often carry him plus 2 friends in the back of car to school/football etc. So I'd like something that I can also use more like a car day to day but will be useful with the occasional nights stay somewhere.
Cheers

Sheppy - I'm not sure whether you saw my earlier reply to your posting re the Kangoo Roo?
If you need to carry passengers, the Roo has a front passenger seat and lap belts for a further 2 passengers in the rear.
