Hi was in the vanny yesterday and the back door was letting in light, strange I thought... on closer inspection the rubber seal has perished right around the door - ever likely it's cold in there! Found this on flebay: Item number 17016085922 But it says make sure this is the right one for your van and I don't know if it is or not, they all look the same to me! Me thinks I will have to go to my local caravan shop and see what they have in stock - and take the van with me so they can check! It's in Knutsford, so about 10 miles away... I just bet it will be a wasted journey.

Hi again! I found a good site to order seals for doors - does anyone have any idea which one I need? There are so many, I'm bound to get it wrong! www.sealsdirect.co.uk/

Hi Jayjay, There are 4 different seals that have been used on the demountable and C15 doors over the years, if your door is not the original one it makes it nearly impossible to say without matching a sample. Some just pushed over a ridge others were threaded into the frame itself. You need to match a cross section of the seal as well as the rubber seal itself. Sorry I can't be of more help. Ant

Thanks, Ant! I emailed the firm I put a link to on here yesterday and this morning I have received a reply. The chap there thinks he knows which one it is, but says if I can send him a sample, he will match it up and let me know for definate which seal I need... Sounds good! ;D So I'm about to go and vandalise my van for a sample of seal so that I can send it to him to see if it's a match!

Am puzzled - the seal around the door frame doesn't seem to come off, and yet it should for when you want to replace it! It seems to be fixed in the middle of two aluminium strips, one outside the door frame and the other one inside the frame, and which seems to be fixed into place with small pins! Trip to caravan shop methinks!

The people at that link (I emailed them) said to send them a piece so they could identify which one it is. However, I can't get it to come off at all. It's the seal around the door frame 'twixt door and frame that is the problem. It's between two pieces of aluminium and appears to be pinned on from the inside, between the two pieces of aluminium strip. And welded/stuck as well. I don't think it was ever intended to come off or be replaced! I was wondering whether to just leave it like it is and get some door seal draught excluder from B&Q and attach it to the inside of the door frame, it would be a solution to the prob, but not necessarily the best one. I haven't taken it to the caravan fitters in Knutsford as I know they will charge a lot to replace it, even if it was possible to do. However, I do know someone who has built his own campervan from scratch, so I'm going to ask him to come and look, he may just have the answer.
