Wasn't sure where to put this but the Romahome section seemed the best place.
I don't know if you have heard this, but last week two people from the Roma Club died, both suddenly and unexpectedly.
The first was Anne Hughes who was the NI contact, the second was Ted Beach the club secretary.
Graham and I would like to extend our deepest sympathy to their families and friends, as I'm sure will all of our members.

Oh dear, my friend Anita who you met at Delvizes emailed me and said that she had heaTrd of 5 deaths in 3 days, so Anne and Ted will be 2 of those, Anita knew Anne and they had stayed with her and Anne with her, Ted I had met he was a lovely person. Think I shall phone Anita.
Pleased that you shared this information.

I have just spoke with Anita, and she informed me that both Pat & Pauline have died ( Roma Club) Pat was the eldest and she did all the work on her van, refitting out the interior etc, it seems Pat died in hospital and Pauline went home and died in the chair, so they are buried together, I remember sitting with both of them in the van, and remember there was a galley above the cooker, complete with Teapot and china cups and saucers! They lived at Palling I think Norfolk.

Am very sad to hear this. I didn't know the people involved as I haven't been to any meets yet or met anyone.
My thoughts and prayers are going out to their family and friends.

I have just read of the recent sad deaths of some of our Romahome members. Like some of the others I did not know them but extend my sympathy to their family friends and those who Romahomed with them. They were lucky though and enjoyed their Romahomes, as we all do - we all must make every effort to enjoy them to the full when we are able.

Joan Hi i am new to this forum ,and i was looking at all the posts when i came across this very very sad one , you see i never knew pat and pauline , but i was after a Romahome as the one i had was worn out ,i also wanted it to be a Honda Acty Romahome ,so i contacted Tony Swann who had helped me out with parts many times , he also told me he had started to import them ,so i asked if he could get me one ,and he said he would, and that he would let me know as soon as he had one , some time latter, he rang me and said ,he had some bad news and some good news, i asked of the bad news, and saddly he told me of pat and paulines death, who had been Romahomers , i then asked of the good news if that was possible after such a sad story , and Tony said pat and paulines Romahome is going to be sold ,and would i like to buy it,i of course said yes , and i went to look at it and fell in love with it , there was indeed a beautiful galley above the cooker where the china lay ,i was amazed how beautiful pat and pauline had made the Romahome,i thanked Tony for what he had done and proudly drove my Romahome home , when i arrived home and i sat in the back only then could i see the love , pat and pauline had given to this beautiful little home ,every memory ,infact every where they had been was portrayed by badges and penndants ,even two coat pegs with the names pat and pauline wrote on them , this was a romahome which was filled with happy times and enought love to fill the world ,when asked by a friend when i would be removing all pat and paulines belongings ,the answer was never, and untill this very day it remains excactly how two beautiful Romahomers pat and pauline lovingly left it ,so sad a loss,so proud to have taken it on another adventure my best wishes Brian

Hello Brian
Welcome to the forum, what a lovely story, I didn't know Pat and Pauline personally but have read about them in the Romaclub magazine.
I'm sure the van they loved so much couldn't be in better hands, I hope you have many happy holidays in your van as Pat and Pauline did.
