hi, this is my 1st of many probably very stupid questions!
has anyone tried moving a demountable when it is off the vehicle?
I know this sounds a daft idea but i want to store my new romahome in the garage but unfortunatly the door opening on the garage is 15 cm too low! I can't see any other option than to demount the body, move it inside and the reverse the van in. once inside there is plenty of height to sit the body back on the van.
my plan so far has been to attatch some heavy duty casters to a piece of plywood and put it under the rear legs when i jack it of the van. move the van forward and then i'll lower the legs enough to wheel it into the garage.
wondered if anyone else had any better ideas or experience.
thanks in advance!

Hi Glen. I made a box from old pallets, put casters on it and lowered the body onto the box, that way the whole structure was stable enough to be pushed by one person. You only mention the rear rear legs, I hope you've got the two front / side legs too otherwise you wont get the body off at all! Ant

hi Ant,
thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I do have the front legs, i was expecting it to be a 3 person job, 1 to control the wheels on the back end and 1 each on the front legs but if it light enough for 1 person to control i'll modify my plans.
thanks again,
Glen
